# claims

anything you don't claim can be taken apart by anyone. claim first, build second.

## claiming

grab a golden shovel, click one corner of the area you want, click the opposite corner. done. (yes any gold shovel works!)

size comes out of your claim blocks, which build up the longer you play. if the shovel says you're short, claim smaller and expand later. hold a stick and click the ground to see where a claim ends.

#### letting people in

* `/trust username` gives them build access. on bedrock, put a dot first: `/trust .username`
* `/trustlist` who has access to the claim you're standing in
* `/untrust username` takes it back

#### the rest

* `/subdivideclaims` splits a claim into sections, so you can trust someone to one room instead of your whole base. run it again to switch back
* `/claimexplosions` toggles explosion damage inside your claim. off is the safe setting
* `/abandonclaim` deletes the claim you're standing in and returns the blocks to your pool

#### griefing

don't break, take or open anything outside a claim just because you can. still griefing, still a ban. read the rules.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://fogsmp.gitbook.io/fogsmp-docs/getting-started/claims.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
